I have served as a Public Speaker in several schools as well as scouting groups. I talk to kids about the career of writing as well as encourage them to read. I share a little known fact about Spongebob Squarepants that kids are very surprised and excited to learn.

I am also a Humorist. Folks who have requested my appearance as a humorist have quickly discovered how crazy life can be when you have a husband, two kids and a vast number of animals sharing the same slice of real estate. How about that brief moment while my son was in kindergarten, when, according to him, he had no father and his mom was "out looking for a man, and she is gonna bring one home this weekend and try him out". He shared this great vision with none other than the PTA president.

There was also the time when my husband mistakenly took the cat to work. He noticed a strange noise in the engine each time he turned a corner. Come to find out, kitty was stuck somewhere between the radiator and the air conditioner and wailed each time the fan belt sheared off an inch or two of fur. Cat and husband arrived safe and sound at the end of the day, though the cat was shaved bald on one side. It took several months for the hair to grow back, and kitty never got near the car again.
